Renee Antoinette Jones, 63, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 17, 2021. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, at 2:30 pm. The family will receive friends in the West Ashley Chapel prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 pm.
The service will be livestreamed and available to view by visiting https://youtu.be/s6cmx0bincg
Renee was born August 1, 1958 in Bronx, New York, the eldest daughter of Sylvia Juanita Robinson and the late Richard Louis Waynes. She was raised primarily in Teaneck, New Jersey where she thrived under the guidance of her mother Sylvia and late father Eddie C Robinson. She graduated Teaneck High School and relocated to Brooklyn New York in 1979 to attend Long Island University where she majored in nursing and minored in biology before moving back to the Bronx. Renee had a lustrous career, starting off as a beautician and later becoming an EMT. She started at the Spinal Cord Unit at the VA Hospital, and finally retired as a Phlebotomist Tech at the VA Hospital in South Carolina.
She had a strong love for family, firearms, babies and small animal. She was known to have a welcome, open door policy. She always had an open heart, a big smile, and of course, good food to match. Renee taught her kids and grandkids the true meaning of giving and selflessness. Our Mother was also quite the social butterfly and had amassed numerous friendships over the years which stretched throughout the World. She was a woman who was always open to trying new things and stressed to us the importance of experiencing the great beauty and treasures the world has to offer. She always saw a glass as being half full as opposed to empty and preferred to search for the good in everyone.
"Mommy was such a hard worker and did her job with a smile. She took joy in being called a "person greeter," because whether you were having a bad day or not, she would still reach out and say "hello". Her genuine love for people is a lasting memory. Her smile would make you smile, her pain would make you hurt, and her jokes would make you laugh."
Our mother is survived by her mother, Mrs. Sylvia Robinson; sister Gina Waynes; preceded in death by her brother, Richard Waynes and father Eddie Robinson; survived by children: Brian Waynes, Erica Perry, Jillian Waynes (Darryl), Matthew Waynes (Khayla), Ebony Waynes, Danielle Rondon-Fernandez (Carlos) and Justin Rondon (Destiny) Grandchildren Sylvia, Naiyh, Brian ZL and Rachel Waynes, Sierra "Princess Pooh" and Patrione "Cornbread" Perry, Darryl "DJ" Baker, Jason, Tierra, Destiny and Zyaire Robinson, London and Aniyah Waynes, Ariel "Diva", Brenden, Carlos "CJ" Fernandez Jr, and Josiah "Butterbean" Rondon; cousins, great grandchildren nieces and nephew: Kristin Scott, Kourtey Keesley, Crystal Brooks and Anthony Waynes
Forever in our hearts
We Love you Mom
